Key ideas
People, lifecycle stages, opportunities, timelines and workspaces, in plain words.
One person, one record
Everyone your institute deals with is a person. The same record moves through four lifecycle stages:
| Stage | Who works with them | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Lead | Sales | Enquiry, calls, demo, quote, enrolment |
| Student | Service and trainers | Batch, attendance, assessments, fees |
| Candidate | Placement | Résumé, job matches, interviews, offers |
| Alumni | Everyone | Referrals, reviews, the next course |
Each handoff is logged, so placement can see what sales promised, and sales can point to real placement results.
Enquiries and opportunities
A person can enquire more than once, from different sources. Each enquiry is kept with its source and campaign. An opportunity is a deal for a course moving through a pipeline of stages you define.
The timeline
Every call, message, email, note, stage change, payment and attendance mark lands on the person's timeline, newest first, with who did it.
Next actions
Every open lead should have a next action: a call, a follow-up, a demo. Today is built from these. When a lead has none, Compass asks for one.
Workspaces
A workspace is one institute. Its data is walled off from every other workspace. If you belong to more than one, you choose which to open after signing in.
Sample data
Some screens in these docs and on the website use made-up people and amounts. They never come from a real institute.
