Batches and attendance

Batches, schedules, attendance by QR or Google Meet, and the service desk.

Batches

Batches lists every batch with its course, mode (in person, online or hybrid), trainer, schedule, dates and seats. Administrators and service staff create them; trainers see their own.

When you create a batch, set its class days and times. Compass creates every session and skips your holidays (Settings → Time off). If a session moves, students see it on their timeline and can get a WhatsApp message, and the trainer is told.

Attendance

Open a session to take attendance:

  • QR check-in: show a code that changes every 30 seconds. Students scan it and enter their mobile number. More than 15 minutes after the start counts as Late.
  • Google Meet: after an online class, mark everyone who joined as present.
  • By hand: Present, Late, Absent or Excused, with Mark the rest absent to finish.

The service desk

Service lists students who may need help, most at risk first, with the reasons:

  • attendance under 75% of the last four sessions;
  • missed assessments;
  • no contact for 14 days;
  • overdue fees.

Draft a check-in writes a short, warm message for you to edit and send. The student's name is hidden from the AI while it drafts.

Ready for placement

A student's placement readiness checklist needs good attendance, every assessment scored, no overdue fees and a résumé confirmed as ready. Once every item passes, service moves them to placement.
