Insights and AI
AI and privacy
What the AI does, what it never sees, and how to control it.
What the AI does in Compass
- Lead briefs and next best actions, with a Why? for each.
- Call summaries: objections, promises and suggested record updates.
- Drafts for WhatsApp and email in English, Hindi and Marathi.
- Daily reports and morning briefs, written from numbers Compass counts itself.
- Paste a chat: course, city and a note from a pasted conversation.
- Ask AI on any page.
- Check-ins for students who may need help, and introductions to employers.
What the AI never sees
Every AI request goes through one gateway. Before anything leaves Compass, it replaces:
- names, with tokens like [Person 1];
- phone numbers and email addresses;
- ID numbers and internal record IDs.
The AI works with the tokens, so it can tell people apart without knowing who they are.
Guard rails
- Drafts use only facts your institute approved in Settings → Knowledge, so fees and batch times are never made up.
- Numbers in reports and briefs are counted by Compass. The AI only writes the words, and a draft with a number that isn't in the counts is thrown away.
- Drafts that promise jobs or salaries are withheld.
- AI suggests; a person always decides and sends.
Controls
- An administrator can switch AI on or off for the workspace in Settings → AI.
- Each workspace has an AI budget. When it's used up, AI pauses; everything else keeps working.
- Every AI call is logged with the model, the prompt version and the time taken.
Which model?
Compass works with leading AI models through a single gateway. The model your workspace uses is shown in Settings → AI.
